Irving A. Lugo, MD, PA

Opioid Replacement Therapy

Suboxone is indicated for long-term treatment of opioid dependence. Irving A. Lugo, M.D. prescribes Suboxone for maintenance of cravings and addictive behaviors. Suboxone may not be taken with benzodiazepines (Xanax, Valium, Klonopin, etc.). Our practice only takes patients who are committed to recovery, meaning adherence to scheduling and prescribing instructions , as well as commitment to individual counseling or a group program (AA, NA, IOP, etc.) if deemed necessary by Dr. Lugo. Urinalysis is conducted at each visit.

Vivitrol is an injectable medication used to prevent relapse to opioid dependence after detox or to treat alcohol dependence. Injections are prescribed by Dr. Lugo and delivered by Eric Kaplan, R.N. on site. If you take opioids, such as prescription pain medications or street drugs, you must stop these for 7-10 days before starting Vivitrol and comply with urinalysis testing during this period of sobriety.

If you or someone you know is struggling with opioid addiction, please contact us to schedule an appointment.
